During my time at Scrawl Studios I worked on
Guess How Much I love You,
a pre-school animation based on the children's book by
Sam McBratney and illustrated by Anita Jeram that
aired on Disney Junior last year.

I worked on the b/w key background layouts for each episode.

Some background art for an animation pitch
for P201. These were really rushed though. I was thinking of taking
this to completion next semester but...

The Hell Gates

These appear in the 7th month of the lunar calendar,
during the Hungry Ghost Festival.

*(edited) added some fog to add to the mystery/epicness.
Adds a bit more to the feels imho. I realize I have a tendency to leave
bgs too clean sometimes

These were done in photoshop :D Art style for an animation pitch for Scrawl 2012

Before being introduced to watercolour recently, I actually had to recreate
the look and feel in photoshop. Tricky, because they had a
tendency to look too digital. If I had to redo these again I would
definitely pick the paintbrush over the stylus!

W.I.P.

Watercolour environment. Daunting yet very fun, because
there isn't an undo button that I'm used to. Will post the final soon!

Throughout the semester I worked on a game trailer on
the side for a friend at school, from storyboard to design to the
final animation in After Effects. Not bad considering I
didn't know a single thing about After Effects three weeks ago :D

The current music is reference track.
composed by Tenmon, taken from ‘Voices from a Distant Star’, directed by Makoto Shinkai.

A rare look into an unfinished project I worked on earlier this year.
I can't really share much of my other work due
due to copyright issues.

I did the art direction, background design, storyboarding and editing
for this short. On reflection my storyboarding is really, really bad,
and I didn't handle the final edit. There are things I know I could have
done better! But that's just me being really picky. :p I would like to say
that I'm really glad for the opportunity to work on this.
